Back to life, back to reality...

Back to the here and now, yeah. Oh, hey ya'll! Who doesn't love a little En Vogue on a Monday evening? I am so sorry for my M.I.A. status...I suck, I know.

I've officially been back for 2 days from Amsterdam and I honestly wish I could take the trip all over again. It was probably the most fun I've ever had in my life. Like, ever.

The beau and I want to go back, like now. Being on a really awesome fun vacation and then coming home to a regular life can be a little depressing. It makes you realize that maybe you were in a bit of a rut when you get home. So instead of whining talking about how depressing it can be to come home, I'll just do a quick little list of things you learn before/during/after a fabulous vacation:

1) When done packing, always check what you packed. And recheck again. Oh, and always check if the adapters you bought so you can do simple things like charge your iPhone are really the right ones. Yeah, that almost happened. (PS - ALWAYS fold your clothes. You can fit so much more in the luggage with folded clothes).

2) No bed will ever be as comfortable as the one you come home to. Guaranteed.

3) As tempting as it is to upload 3982392 pictures to your facebook, limit the pictures. People really aren't that interested. It all looks the same to them. After all, they did not get to stroll the streets for hours on end. That's all the fun you had.

4) Speaking of strolling the street for hours, make sure your shoes are comfortable. Blisters on the first day are not entirely fun.

5) When traveling overseas, check out the areas and what will be around the hotel. Also research if the country you're traveling to takes the types of credit cards you have. Come to find out, a lot of Amsterdam will only take chipped cards.

6) Be prepared to get screwed when exchanging currency.

7) Look for restaurants that the locals go to. Those places are when you hit the food jackpot.

8) The beer you drink over there will not taste nearly as good when you find it at home. Trust me.

9) Remember that a lot of the places are old. Well, every place is pretty damn old. It is entirely possible to get locked in a bathroom with the lock falling off in your hand. Yeah, that  might have happened.

10) Take a carry on with a change of clothes. Lots of things can happen, and who wants to have to wear dirty undies while they search for your lost luggage. You can always use the carry on to bring all of your souvenirs home!

11) Expect the unexpected. Our luggage was left in ATL on the way home. So we sat around all damn day on Saturday waiting for it to arrive.

12) Last but not least, START PLANNING NEXT YEARS TRIP!!

And since this list ended up being so damn long, here are a few pictures:
