Obvi some words totes annoy me & are ridic & cray.

Oh hell ya'll, I am about to go on one of my drunken rants.  I was reading Holly's blog this morning (she is amazingly awesome, so check her out) when she was talking about how she heard someone using "rando" in a convo (see what I did there?)  Anyways, it reminded me of a bunch of random ass words that I wish would go the hell away.  If you use these words, sorry that I'm not sorry but it's way fucking annoying:

Cray aka crazy
Rando aka random
Totes aka totally
Obvi aka obviously
Selfie aka self picture
Whatev aka whatever

I know there are some words I'm missing.  & this post might piss you off (especially if you use these words.)  But whatev, I'm totes out of this rando convo.

30 by 30


Yeah, it’s that day again.  No weight loss aside from the 1 lb., but I’ll take it because any loss is better than a gain. Duh!  Last night the beau had a business obligation after work, so I was left to fend for myself for dinner.  Since it sucks making a bunch of food for 1 person, I decided to take it easy.  I don’t know if anyone has created something like this before, but I’ve gotta think this isn’t an original idea…because it’s just that fricken awesome, who wouldn’t have thought of this before and why the eff did it take me 29 years?  Anyways, enough babble bullshit, here’s the recipe:

Nicole’s healthy chicken salad

2 – 10 oz. cans of chicken (I was lazy & it was in the pantry – don’t judge me)
1 tbsp. of chopped red onion
2 tbsp. of hummus (I used Atheno’s garlic hummus)
1 tsp. of minced garlic
½ of hass avocado
2 celery stalks
S&P to taste
½ the juice from a lemon

Chop, mix, mince, whatever, and then throw all of that goodness into a bowl.  Serve over a salad (that’s what I did), or serve as a sandwich.  The possibilities are endless, really. BUT do not blame me if you eat the whole recipe in 1 sitting.

1 batch is about 4 servings.  Nutritional info:

161 calories, 4 carbs, 1 iron, 23 g protein, 2 g fiber, 713 mg sodium


I did Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred today (JM30DS is what I normally call it).  I really had zero motivation to work out tonight but I did it anyways.  I was listening to Pandora because JM's voice is so fucking annoying not pleasant, and what song comes on?  GINUWINE - PONY.  So this obviously puts me in a mood.  I only say "a" mood because it made me think of Magic Mike.  And all of the sudden your girl has motivation like WHOA!  So I pounded that workout out and burned 240 cals.  WOOT WOOT!  

I'll see ya'll tomorrow.  I have no idea what I'll write about, more than likely I'll just wing it.

Does someone have a case of the Mondays?!

First of all, is that not one of the greatest movies ever?  Second, who doesn't always have a case of the Mondays?  I know I sure as hell do.  Especially since it's President's Day & schools are closed, but my work is open.  Oh well, I gotta make some $$.

I ate pretty decent this weekend, I just drank a little too much.  Oh well, can't win them all.  I set my alarm to get up this morning, but damn it's cold outside...and my bed was so  warm.  So I guess the workout will have to wait for tonight.

I was able to get up on Saturday and try out my new brooks.  Oh, I also lost a lb.  So only 29 to go!!!

The beau & I went out to do a little pub crawl Saturday night.  A late V-day celebration.  It was a ton of fun.


And lastly, I've been making tons of yummy recipes.  This is an artichoke & tomato baked chicken.  Yum!!

Valentine's Day

I know there are a lot of people that think Valentine's day is commercial, a waste of money, and why do you only show your love one day outta the year?! Blah, blah, blah.  Here's why I love V-day.

Once upon a time your girl was engaged.  Shocking, I know.  Fast forward to what an idiot loser he was, and I just thought...



Were there Valentine's days I was single?  Yes.  Did I enjoy it?  Absolutely.  I could sit on my couch naked don't judge me, eating a shitload of carbs, watching LMN, and then finishing it off with some jumping jacks & Ben & Jerry's.  Don't judge, I'm a good time, DAMNIT!  But seriously, I think the people who don't enjoy Vday are the people that have never been in a shitty relationship.  Once you're in a shitty relationship, and then enter into a new one, you realize how nicely things seem to just fit.

That's how the beau and I are.  We don't really argue, we disagree, sure...but it's nothing close to what my previous relationship was.  I actually enjoy his company.  I love being around him.  Mostly, we have fun & encourage each other to be the best person we can be.

Anyways, this is the 2nd Vday the beau & I have been together.  Today was a really great day.  I set up the beau & LO's presents on the kitchen table.  We got the LO a set of legos (his current obsession is Legos), a robe (he asked for it - he sees me wear mine around the house), and a Batman belt to contribute to his Batman obsession.  He was happier than a pig in shit & so was I.  It makes me genuinely happy to see him smile.  I got the beau the Nest thermostat, some LA CHOUFFE beer (serious - the best beer EVER), and some candy.  He was so sweet & got me an anchor necklace, a gorgeous heart bracelet, some of the prettiest & most fragrant roses ever, and took me to lunch.  I had class tonight so we didn't get to do dinner together, that's why he took me to lunch.  I got home tonight around 9, and we had a few beers & washed Tosh.  Nothing says romantic like Tosh & Miller Lite.

So basically, I love Valentine's day because a) it's another holiday I get to buy presents for the people I love + I get to decorate the house and b) I am really in a relationship that I appreciate.  Alright ya'll, I'm starting to make myself sick with all this mushy talk!

30 by 30...

Another Wednesday, another #30by30 post.  So I've still been eating well & working out.  Last week I managed to work out 5 days.  This week I've managed to work out once.  I did get my new Brooks today and they're super-freaking-comfy so I'm going to break those babies in tomorrow.  They don't look the cutest...mainly because all of my current running shoes are hot pink, but as long as I don't have anymore feet/ankle/shin pain, I could give 2 shits.  

Tomorrow is v-day.  Yay!  I actually enjoy Valentine's day.  When I was single I enjoyed it, now that I'm attached I still enjoy it.  I got the LO some legos & a robe...he's gonna be stylin' in this robe.  He sees me wear mine around the house & asked me to get him one. I got the beau a Nest thermostat & some la chouffe beer.  Seriously, best $10.95 I've ever spent on a bottle of beer.  9% alc by vol?  It'll make ya holla, fo sho.  

Oh well, I'm just babbling on now, and I really have an exam to be studying for...so, until next time...

Weight a minute Wednesdays

Hello my little lovers.

Let’s talk about what I’ve recently turned weight a minute Wednesday’s into.  WAMW will now be known as operation: 30by30.  No one really knows what that means when I tell them (it’s something my bff Dallin helped me make up – duh), but it’s pretty simple.  I’ll be 30 this year (aka it’s all downhill from here), so I decided I’m going to lose at least 30 lbs. by then.  That’s exactly 171 days away approximately 24 weeks.  At 1.5 lbs. a week I feel like this is an achievable goal.

Things have been going great.  I mean, it has only been 3 days (yes, I am counting, thankyouverymuch), but I’m still in a really good place mentally.  I have stayed away from the scary scale (I hate the scale and I seriously doubt we’ll ever be bff’s) but regardless, I’ve just been doing my thang.  Getting in my c25k workout, eating very well, and cutting out some of the extra carbs I was gorging myself on. I really have no excuses, and I’m very excited to see the changes in my body.  I feel like changing your lifestyle is about 90% mental, the other 10% is just fuggin’ doing it.  It’s very hard to stick with, but I’ve never really been “happy” with my body per se, so it’s time.  Who wants to venture into their 30’s unhappy with the way they look?  Not this “mature” lady.

Weekend recap

This will actually be my Monday Funday post, but I'm getting it done now in between doing the dishes.

Last night we had the beau's luau birthday party.  It was a ton of fun!  Everyone came in their awesome hawaiian shirts, wore lei's, and just had a genuinely good time.

Today was spent mostly recuperating.  Looking forward to getting back into the routine tomorrow.  I'm going to start back at the c25k because the beau and I are doing a weight loss competition this month.
